CREATING TRADITIONS WITH LOCAL

HOLIDAY FOOD

Regional

Seasonal

Sustainable

Convivial

I encourage you to view the coming holiday season as an opportunity to express your Slow Food values by purchasing local farm products, taking time to enjoy preparing them, and sharing the pleasures of the table with your friends and family. We are lucky to have access, even in the winter, to meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and fruit grown nearby. We need to savor the special foods that each season brings in the Skagit Valley.

In addition, consider local foods for gift giving this year. Options abound. Buy a basket and fill it with assorted locally made jams, jellies, and pickled veggies. Make some apple butter, add a jug of local cider, a dozen apples, and a hand written recipe for apple pie on artisan paper. How about a big loaf from the Breadfarm, and an assortment of local cheeses?  Living near the Salish Sea, we have an abundance of seafood products available. Smoked salmon and many other items are packaged ready to ship easily.

Scan through our website and you will find a wide array of products made with care by our neighbors - prepared fruits and vegetables, bread, cheese, beer, wine, candy, herbal beauty products, and smoked seafood to name few. Support them and keep the dollars here! In an effort to help everyone accomplish this goal, Thank you,

Burk
